“Tax Freedom Day” is Upon Us

Tax Freedom Day is right around the corner. On, or around, May 1st, 2006, average Americans will be freed of the burden of having worked up until that point this year entirely for the government. For other people. For someone else. Someone who didn’t earn it. Someone other than you.
Break it down however you like:
- One third of your entire working life.
- That’s January, February, March, and April of every year of your life.
- That’s Monday and most of Tuesday of every week of your life.
- That’s 1 out of every 3 hours of every day of your life.
And what do we get in return?
As Chris Rock would say: All the free streetlight in the world.
It’s confiscatory. It’s anticonstitutional. It’s pornographic.
