May Day, May Day!

For those living under a rock for the past couple of weeks, Monday has been announced as “May Day”, whereby “[p]ro-immigration activists say a national boycott and marches … will flood America’s streets with millions of Latinos to demand amnesty for illegal immigrants and shake the ground under Congress as it debates reform.” (via MyWay.com)
On WTKK’s Saturday edition of Eagan and Braude, Jim speaks with what is evidently the voice of pro-illegal immigration sympathizers everywhere in stating that this is really quite a clever idea. The idea behind this moronic display is to somehow illustrate to the American people what life would be like without illegal immigrants.
Wow. I concede. It’s all clear to me now. If hundreds or thousands of workers of a given company organize a walk-out on the same day, you mean that company will have to temporarily shut down? I never realized that. Gracias for the tip.
I feel ridiculous having to point out the obvious that these “temporary” setbacks in staffing and resources would eventually be overcome with the influx of American workers seeking jobs.
So on May Day, I recommend you go to work as usual, watch/listen to these rallies via your news medium of choice. Point and laugh. Then demand that our government, as Jay would say, “get a clue. And get a net.”
