8 Reasons Why Hillary Clinton Is Guaranteed to Be the Next U.S. President

Let’s cut right to the chase: Hillary Clinton is running for the United States presidency in 2008. She has been running for nearly ten years now. She’s always been running. And though it makes me physically ill to consider a Hillary presidency, she’s got a damn good shot at winning. She’s already a lock for a sizable portion of the Democrat base. The Left adores her. Her word is gospel. Even if she were speaking Martian, her paragraphs at any Democrat fundraiser could well be punctuated with the crowd rejoicing, “Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!” If only it weren’t already trademarked by the Bush-loving, right wing, Jesus-freak propaganda machine! Oh, and Halliburton.

But she must turn her attention to the only niche demographic that matters - the Undecideds. The white, Independent, middle to upper-middle class swing voters. From Eleanor Clift of MSNBC: Not offending party regulars while courting independents is the key to winning, a balancing act requiring more skill than conviction.

Translation: For Hillary to succeed, she must continue to excite her base at party fundraisers with the constant, baseless chatter about the Bush administration’s lies, etc. etc., while at the same time ensuring that she can effectively bullshit her way to the politically safe middle-ground on touchstone issues. Meaning: She’s not going to take a stand on anything.

And she’ll do just that. And she’ll win. For these reasons:

  1. She’s a woman. The argument here among left to middle voters is that, “It’s time for a woman.” What the hell this means, I have no idea. But Hillary can and will appeal to the novelty quotient of swing voters. Though this notion of building one’s initial voting decision on the pretense of a candidate’s gender is both ludicrous and dangerous, many registered Independents will find novelty purely in the fact that Mrs. Clinton pees sitting down.
  2. She’s a victim. Hillary as survivor. Independent women will side with the scorned woman. She weathered the storm of a cheating husband (Bonus: somehow he emerged as a victim too!). Hillary is viewed as tough for her commitment to her marriage through the most heinous of marital wrongs - infidelity. Though I personally view this as ideologically moronic and nothing more than a stunt to further her political career, she will pull at the heart strings of white, middle class, Desperate Housewives-loving women (and panty-wearning men) who have been victims or, in their eyes, might as well have been.
  3. She has star power - a marquee name. She’s a Clinton. Much like the Kennedy’s, the Clinton’s possess an immense amount of invincibility in their name alone. Conversely, the most notable and famous of Republicans include the mere likes of Giuliani and McCain. Not exactly household names.
  4. She has the entire establishment media on her side. Again, like the Kennedy’s, the establishment media - ABC, NBC, CNN, et. al. - will not hold her accountable or call her to task for anything. Ever. In the quote-unquote press conference that Patrick Kennedy held just after his (ahem) vehicular malfunction several months ago, whereby no conferencing was conducted and no questions asked or answered, Mr. Kennedy deftly established a basis by which any future media scrutiny about said event could be quickly deflected with a terse, “I’ve already answered those questions.” Likewise, Mrs. Clinton’s press conferences are nothing more than diatribes to lay a similar foundation for defense against any future media inquiry.
  5. She’s immune from having a position on anything. You cannot be a viable presidential candidate without being vague, says Matt Bennett, of the Democratic centrist (oxymoron alert!) group Third Way. For a Republican, this advice couldn’t be more wrong. For the Left, it’s genius. Without the establishment media holding her to account for anything she’s said, done, or voted on, she can’t be pigeon-holed into this position or that. Brilliant! Without taking a definitive side on anything, she’s effectively a moderate.

Is she for or against abortion? Well I think she said she’s for women’s rights and that sounds nice.

Is she for or against higher taxes? Um … I think she said she’s investing in our future … which is good, right?

What’s her stance on Iraq and ensuring our country’s safety? Well she’s for the troops - she’s definitely proud of the troops. I know that much. And that’s good enough for me.

  6. Her husband is a beloved, ex-president … The Left views Hillary’s presidency as an encore to Bill’s eight years in office (grab the motion discomfort receptacle now, please). His post-presidential gallivanting around the world, with more than a few unkind words to spout off about the Bush administration has garnered him praise predictably from the left, but from the center as well. He’s charming, charismatic, and able to talk across party lines with frightening ease.
  7. … and a brilliant political strategist. Eleanor Clift also notes that, [Bill] is her best strategist, with a fingertip feel for the electorate that is unrivaled. Slick Willy resonates well not only with his base, but with the registered middle as well. And if he’s out stumping for his wife, be assured, there’ll be many an eager ear to listen. Well if Bill’s personally telling me to vote for her … who am I to argue?
  8. She’s not a Republican. The Democrats’ challenge is to do one of two things. What they are going to try to do, what they should do, is say nothing except “Had enough?”, said Newt Gingrich in a recent TIME magazine interview. Many independents have had enough. The anti-Bush crowd has done too good of a job demonizing the Bush administration. And with a seemingly neverending stream of scandals to boot, Republicans as a whole have taken a lot of collateral damage.

There is no viable Republican candidate who holds a single one of these advantages. The Republicans are imploding. With the war in Iraq-nam gone horribly wrong, the Democrats likely coup of Congress next month, and Bush struggling to successfully deliver an English sentence the Right’s message to the American people, they’re fighting just to keep their base. And to gain the approval of an increasingly jaded, inquisitive, well-educated moderate electorate.

The Democrat base is a lock for Hillary. The only piece of the voting pie over which she’s fighting is the Independent, swing vote.

It’s a tough row to hoe for the Right and barring some inexplicable cosmic event in the next two years, mark Hellary down as a lock.

I think the only real valid point is number 6, and possibly number 7.

I think the thing you are really missing is how many people REALLY don’t like Hillary.

Hillary running would be the greatest thing to ever happen to the Republicans in ‘08.

People on the far left are going to vote Democratic no matter if it is Hillary, or Bayh.

But Hillary is SURE to get Republicans out to the polls.

The only chance for Hillary is if the Republicans run someone equally polarizing, like Macaca Allen, or Frist. If you get a McCain on the ticket, you are going to see a LOT of Dems vote for McCain over Hillary.

It would be a blow out.

I think that Hillary will make an excellent president, she is everything that our current president is not. She is extremely intelligent, well spoken, well groomed for the office, extremely political and will be able to make her way in the political arena. I believe that as a woman whe will not have the macho male ego to full fill and will have the people of the US at heart. She may be power crazy but she is not greedy. It is my hope that she will use the power to benefit the citizens.

God forbid that we have a First Lady called Bill who will run the office again.

I don’t know if I’d say guaranteed, but you do bring up some good points.

Still, it scares the sh*t out of me.

    Bonnie,

I agree that I think she would be a GOOD president, I just think that she would never come close to winning an election.

The right wing has said that “Not even having Satan on the ballot would energize their party more than Hillary.”

  6. Paul on October 16th, 2006 4:33 pm

I’m sorry, but like CDM said, there are just entirely too many people that REALLY don’t like her. If she were my choice for Dem during ‘08, even with everything that’s going on, I would be left with very little choice but to vote Republican and I’m a “swing” vote. I absolutely loathe Hillary Clinton and everything she stands for. It makes me sick having Feinstein as a representative for the very same reason. And again, as cdm stated, the republicans would come out in droves just to vote her down.

Here’s the kicker, I’m hoping to vote Dem ‘08 simply because I don’t want a chance of another “Bush” in the office in ‘08. But the Dems have to not screw up like they did in ‘04 with Kerry to prevent that.

What I REALLY want to see is some impeachment hearings (I mean ALL of the top guys and gal) start after the ‘06 election when the Rep’s loose control of congress. Any one of us would be in prison for decades if we tried to pull what these people are doing right now and noone is lifting a finger to stop them.

Bonnie, are you serious? She may not have a male ego as she is not male but she still has plenty to prove. She is very greedy powerwise and she would use and abuse every power that she was given. She would make a horrible president. She would mess up and progress that we have made in Iraq and your hope that she would use her power to help the people is just your blid ignorance to Hillary the political presence. Hillary would make a horrible president. Does anyone remember Watergate? There are a large number of women, independents and just general voters that would abhor Hillary as president, thus making her election nothing near a sealed deal.

okay im not old enought to vote yet but most of the kinds at school have the same opinon as their parents. Hillary CLinton would make a great presidant if she didn’t have so much greed. it;s kike we love her and hate her at the same time

I am interested in finding out why people love Hillary so much and so I find that this is a very good BLOG to read. I believe that Hillary Clinton is a product of an era where the press and television controlled public opinion and, quite frankly, how we think. The only problem is this. We do not live in this sort of society anymore. Now-a-days we have the internet and we have BLOGgers. As Mike Drudge has once said, “these days, everyone is a reporter”. And just as the BLOGgers brought down Mike Wallace with his phoney military records about W, so will the truth about how Hillary Clinton really is will come out. And this will overshadow the well-crafted public persona that we have been duped into believing about her.

Do you remember how popular Ross Perot was? On the surface, a lot of pepole thought Perot was like a dream-come true. Questionable dealings and seriously personality flaws did not come to light for a long time. In the end, Ross Perot was Ross Perot’s own worse enemy. Hillary Clinton has even more and even bigger skeletons in her closet. She has a history of looking people straight in the eyes and telling people what she cannot possibly believe. She has even coldly done this on national television. Remember her “vast right-wing conspiracy” comment. She did not actually believe that but she truly thought that the public will and that would throw off the Paula Jones and the Ken Star investigations into a tail spin. After that interview she told an aid, “that will teach them to fuck with us” within ear shot of the set crew. She also has a history of stabbing people in the back to further her political career. Looking at all the questionable dealings she has had her hand in (Whitewater, the WhiteHouse redecoration scandal, the silverware disappearing and re-appearing from the Whitehouse, the FBI reports on the Republicans appearing on her desk) one has to wonder if her well-reported good deeds were just a photo ops intended to hide her true nature.

Hillary Clinton is not a swing vote draw candidate. Clinton will not garner Republican swing voters and will in fact provoke Democratic swing voters to consider the as of yet unknown Republican candidate. Gorge Bush Jr. has not represented his conservative base in fact is considered by most to have gone renegade to the globalist agenda. Clinton, Kerry, Gore, and Bush are all names associated with the globalist agenda. A candidate that can not be described as a globalist but as an American patriot will have an instant draw to the voter cross party lines. Bill Richardson, Democratic governor of New Mexico and announced candidate for Democratic Presidential Candidate, has been an insider to the political process and has been exposed to the closed society of Democratic as well as Republican globalist. I am not a supporter of Richardson for many reasons but, I will say his patriotism to the United States should not come under question. If it came between Clinton or Richardson for President my support would go to Richardson. We do not know who the Republican hopefuls are yet despite many unfounded rumors but any hopeful must stand as an American patriot to have any chance of being President.

She is the biggest liar and phoney. We don’t need any more of the Clinton’s bullshit.

You know those people that will say anything to win? Copying running mates at will to hopefully snag more votes?

Of the things she says, how much of it will be true if she’s our President? What is she going to bring to our country that will be worth her time in office?

Although I would love to see a woman as our President, I’d rather it be someone that’s worth a damn.

    OBAMA 08!

Wow…there’s an awful lot of people here that are implying things. You say that she WILL do this, and she WILL do that, and she WILL make a horrible president…but truthfully, you have no idea. I’m not gonna say that she will be an awesome president, but I’m also not gonna say that she will be a horrible one…I don’t know. The only sure way to know anything, is to wait and see what she WILL DO.

I want the soldiers to be able to come home. This war isn’t worth it. With peace comes prosperity again for our country. On that note, not all of us peace loving folk are thrilled about Hillary Clinton’s hawkish views on foreign policy, and a few of us are a little afraid of what she will really do. I, for one, don’t want her bombing Iran or Pakistan right now. We don’t need that. If one of the Republicans would take a stand and lay out a comprehensive plan as to how to get the U.S. out of this nasty mess in one solid piece, I think it would be a landslide to the Presidency.

HILLARY CLINTON IS ONLY AS ‘INEVITABLE’ AS THE STUPIDITY OF THE PEOPLE WHO VOTE FOR HER (and her husband Bill, who will be in charge).

  16. William M. Thompson on March 5th, 2008 8:10 pm

I am putting together 30 reasons why she is not going to be successful.

“She’s a woman.” This should not be a plus nor a minus.

“She’s a victim.” This is not true. Bill is the victim. Her job is to be a wife and staisify her husband. She has failed. Her husband is a vicitim.

“She has star power - a marquee name. She’s a Clinton.”
This, as I have described in www.gelsana.com/Hillary is not a good thing.

“She has the entire establishment media on her side.”
Like Stan Lee? This is not a good thing.

“She’s immune from having a position on anything. ”
This is not a good thing.

“Her husband is a beloved, ex-president”
This, as I have described in www.gelsana.com/Hillary is not a good thing.

    “…and a brilliant political strategist.”
You mean corrupt and good at avoiding being caught? This is not a good thing.

    “She’s not a Republican.”
    This does not mean anything.

Bill? In charge? Bill was never in charge. This will be Hillary’s 3rd term.
